Ok, many tell me I'm "blinded by my faith" and I "will not listen to reason". So tell me people of the faith of nothingness, explain to me that there is no God. I really am all ears. I will not argue until everyone (who debates) has said their piece.

OMG you do not want to start this debate....I'm not even going to get started, weren't you just told in the last thread you were in to avoid these kinds of debates, I especially think you should avoid the religious ones. Many people get to fired up over this topic and though I find it amusing many do not. Someone needsw to post their opinion on religion and I'll take the opposite side....Debating is so fun and it makes no difference to me.

I'd post here and try to debate, but my problem is that I like to fight more than I like to debate, so I won't bother.

You just won't give up, will you Mel? As for your question, I believe in God. I just don't shove it down everyone's throat. Also, in the unlikely event you're unaware, your signature is freaking huge. Resize it to 600x100 or get rid of it, or I'm going to start getting angry. Everyone else: Let's keep it civil so it can stay open longer than a day this time

I believe in God. But, I believe people of grown accustomed to a corrupt religion. I dont not think that everything in this world happens for a reason. Oblviously it can not happen for a reason becuase we have free will to do WHATEVER we want. Ed Gene killed girls and used their bodies decorations, tell me the meaning. Innocent girls are raped and left to live their lives with those nightmares, again the reason is? I believe that part of God has given up on mankind, and will continue to ignore us until the Rapture. I believe the very rare miracles that occur on Earth are gifts from Angels.

Innocent girls are raped and left to live their lives with those nightmares, again the reason is? I believe that part of God has given up on mankind, and will continue to ignore us until the Rapture. I believe the very rare miracles that occur on Earth are gifts from Angels. When we disobey him, we reap what we sow. He will continue to try and knock sense into you, but as long as you run, he cannot force you to do anything. God's commands are simple, you obey them or you disobey them. God only works his miracles in those who are his. He will not use a dirty vessel. And what are the reasons innocent girls get raped? God didn't cause it, no, but he didn't stop it. You know why? Humankind in general must live with the affects of the sins of our first parents, Adam and Eve. Satan literally owns the earth. Ever since mankind fell he and his cohorts overtook the world. God made it simple for Adam and Eve to obey, but they fell to temptation and now we all reap what was sown. But if you give your life to God and live for Him, obeying his Word, then he will keep you until we all meet Him in Heaven. The innocent children may be ripped from the womb, but that is a result of the selfishness of sin. But those children will be eternally with God. Even if you live to be 100, it is no comparison to eternity; it's like a day in a week, a season in a year. It goes by quickly. When we all meet in heaven, God will then destroy the earth and all evil, then we will all dominate the new earth led directly by Jesus Christ. Sin will be banished forever.

I do also want to mention that I will not try and force my opinions on anyone by trying to MAKE them believe what I beleive. I will only speak my mind and show people my point of view. This view comes directly from the Bible, so it is the true view. As I have said before, I make mistakes, I am not always right, but God's view is correct, my interpretation sometimes is off.
I talk, Jango talks, Waldo takes, Tacgnol talks, funkjamshizam talks, but always I am the one supposedly "forcing my opinions". I use to do that, but lately all I do is talk, but I continually cannot get away from this title of a bigot. I've chalked it up to being that it comes from the Bible that it upsets people.

Mhm. Right right. Or perhaps God is a made up being who was created long long ago when civilizations were beginning to sprout up, and most people didn't quite know to explain much and so they created a god. Just like other religions. Now that we understand science and our universe, we should start using our intelligence instead of still listening to made up folk tales and fabrications from long ago.
And I suppose mankind was doomed to begin with? Creating two humans to populate the world ? Am I correct, or do I have your folk tales wrong? Wouldn't that mean that to basically begin to populate, you have to go through so many many sins. Incest for one. Incest would be happening every day seeing as we're how weirdly related. I don't know I personally am open minded and never really believed Christianity when I was raised that way too.

Gods supposed to be infinately powerful, right? Then Why didnt he smite Lucifer? instead he had another Angel kick him out

I don't know I personally am open minded and never really believed Christianity when I was raised that way too. There's too many coincidences in our world for me to beleive in nothing creating something randomly. It takes way more faith to beleive in that than it does to beleive in an all-mighty creator. Only reason people have a problem with it is because people would rather they be in control. People lift themselves up to be god's as they write that millions of years ago we use to be monkeys (even though we can still see monkeys today). They prefer that science be in control of the world as we clone animals and humans. We make the decisions to kill a baby when we want. We decide not to be accountable to the creator. It'd do everyone some good to read about the greenhouse effect, the oxygen in the world. Just air in general. Read about our bodies. Read about the atmosphere, water, the hydrologic cycle, the weather, physics. You take all the "coincidences" and put them all together and something out of nothing becomes an absurdity. If you begin to study the world you begin to see that there's no other way to explain it than to say that God created it. There's been too many miracles in my life alone to say there is no God.

Gods supposed to be infinately powerful, right? Then Why didnt he smite Lucifer? instead he had another Angel kick him out Nowhere in the Bible does it say Adam and Eve joined others. It says they had children, then it says Cain knew his wife (his sister). Back then the genetics weren't so drawn out, it would not have been destructive at all for Cain to "know" his sister. "After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters." Genesis 5:4 Josephus writes: The number of Adam’s children, as says the old tradition, was thirty-three sons and twenty-three daughters. Today there are many mistakes in genes that show up today, due to the effect of sin, so God has made it a law that close relatives cannot marry. Though back at the beginning of the world, that was not so. There was no reason to worry! You take two people closely related who, because of their genes, have the same deformities will result in their children having very bad deformities. You take one person with a deformity in their genes and another person without and the result is maybe crooked ears or whatever the gene deformity is related to. But back in the days of Genesis that was not the case, humans were created perfect. But as sin stayed in the earth it began to take an affect on the human race.

And when you take a deeper look into these "absurdities" you find that science can explain them. That's what your religion is, looking at "miracles" "absurdities" and coincidences and then jumping to assumptions. I really do find it hard to debate religion, because I do make it out into a fight as well.

Nice to know that to you, we are all spawned from Incest. But see Mel, you have to realize that there are, not to you, but to others, the possibilty of a God outside the bounds and stories of humans. aka, not a Christian God

Well, as I've stated before, I am an atheist. Have been since I've been old enough to think for myself (not saying that anyone that does believe doesn't think for themselves, just that as soon as I could I decided religion wasn't for me). I've also been a member of this predominantly Christian forum for a few years now, so hopefully I've shown that I hold no disdain for your beliefs (despite reading several rantings of how people like me are rife with sin and condemned to hell for openly defying your god), I'm as tolerant in that area as anyone you'll meet; but I can't say that I've always received the same acceptance in return.
I've met people that have responded in anger, frustration, and downright bewilderment just because they found out that I thought differently than them. But on the other hand, the majority of my friends are Christian, because luckily I've been able to find people just as open-minded as myself.
But unfortunately, the majority of Christians (especially in the Bible Belt, where I live) look down on me for my beliefs, some even thinking it to be synonymous with satanism (most people are just plain ignorant of anything different).
And yes, it'd be much easier to go through life lying and pretending to be something I'm not in order to avoid the constant finger-wagging and belittlement, but I'd much rather be true to myself; if your god is willing to condemn me to hell for that, then so be it.
