In the galaxy, in the Outer Rim territories, in the Moddell sector, near the unknown regions, there is a planet; above this planet hovers a moon- a verdant sphere from a distance, but on the green sphere one patch of sandy beige, a barren rocky desert, and in this desert rests a fortress. Within the fortress is a Jedi. The Jedi is a female, dressed in black, face shrouded behind a mask. In her hand is a small metal box-- fourteen centimeters wide, fourteen centimeters tall. The Jedi is breathless, because she has been running. She has been running because she is being chased...
The Jedi's feet pounded on the metal grid of the floor beneath her as she made her way down the corridor. Behind her five other pairs of feet joined the cadence of her own. The corridor vanished into a large pentagonal chamber. The Jedi ran across the chamber toward the passage ahead, but in the center of the room she paused. More footsteps pounded ahead, the footsteps behind drew closer. She glanced left, then right; from each direction the heavy pounding of feet. Behind her her pursuers spilled forth from the corridor, she turned to face them, two Rodians, two humans, and a Chiss. On the other side of the room which was now behind her (for she had turned), five sentries entered and fanned out. On her left and right, the same. She was encompassed. She tightened her hold on the box which she held in her right arm, and placed her left hand over it protectively. Twenty blasters were leveled on her, but she made no effort to attack, and did not reach for the lightsaber concealed within her tunic. The Chiss took one step forward, blaster raised, the Jedi's violet eyes locked on his. He fired once. The force of the bolt jolted the Jedi as it struck her chest. He fired again. The Jedi staggered. One more blast and the Jedi crumpled to her knees, the box dropping from her weakening hands and landing on the floor with a small thud. She looked down at the three holes sizzling in her chest, then back up to meet the Chiss' gaze. The nauseating sweet smell of her own burning flesh and the menacing red glow of his eyes was the last thing she was aware of before she limped over onto her side.
The Jedi was motionless on the floor.
Her pursuers and the sentries closed on her.
One of the Rodians reached for the box.
Her hand twitched.
A bubble of white-purple light burst forth from the Jedi. The bubble expanded so that it enclosed all in the room, then the bubble burst in one lightning flash-like explosion.
The room was still, every being lay unconscious on the floor.
The Jedi's eyes opened. She pushed herself up with her hands and onto her feet, she wavered for a second, but within one more second gained full stability. She brushed off the side of her leg, then bent and picked up the fallen box, and continued toward the far exit.
One sentry, a thick human with black hair and a scarred face, who'd been one of the farthest from the Jedi when the stun bubble exploded, regained consciousness, and though his head was hazy with confusion, he felt his blaster still within his grip. He lifted his eyes and saw the Jedi approaching.
One chance. He had one chance.
He raised his blaster and his finger tightened around the trigger. Something in the Jedi's hand made a snap-hiss sound and a bright green light seared the barrel of his blaster off as the Jedi walked past. In the three point eight seconds it took his eyes to recover from the sudden exposure to light and adjust back to the dimness of the room, the Jedi had vanished.

Soleia Reiss accessed the fortress hangar. She switched the metal box to her left hand, raised her right wrist and entered a frequency, then spoke into her comlink. "I got it."
She cut the signal and walked to a starfighter which was docked on the far right side. The canopy opened and she climbed in. It closed, and the starfighter's engines came to life. Within seconds, she lifted off and shot out of the hangar. Her fighter shrank against the light blue sky until it disappeared altogether into space.
