Hey, Mel, thought you'd like this. "Senators voted Thursday morning to give the federal government more jurisdiction to prosecute hate crimes and included protections for gay, lesbian and transgender victims, attaching the measure to an annual defense policy bill." www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=3659768&page=1Not only does our government support them, now they're protecting them! lol wut

well personally i don't care if this country protects against it. If it's wrong then I'll stand with the Bible. Doesn't mean I'm gonna take up arms against the government about it... But the Bible clearly says sodomy is wrong. Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. It also could mean that you shouldn't lie to other guys, but it's totally okay to lie to women.

Nah... all throughout this chapter it uses phrases like "uncover the nakedness of" and "lie carnally"... clearly through the indication of this chapter it's talking about physical relations... but I know you're joking. (I hope )

Why don't you just say sex? The phrase physical relations just makes me laugh. It hints that there is something like mental relations, which is just weird. And no, I'm completely serious. Maybe.

It's biblically and morally wrong; Romans one, which Jace referenced to, supports that:
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
The death it's talking about, I believe, is spiritual death; I don't think we need to put them physically to death or persecute them because of their lifestyle, or anything (such judgment belongs to God). They, like all sinners, are simply in need of true repentence and salvation. So, we should minister to them, as the Spirit leads, similar to how we'd minister to any sinner. "For the wages of (all) sin is death; but the (free for all) gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. I do believe it is also wrong to be friends with homosexuals. The bible states very clearly... "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14 Choosing to have a friendship with someone who you know is living a sinful lifestyle, is wrong. If we walk in the light how can we have fellowship with those who dwell in darkness without walking out into the darkness ourselves?

Having any kind of friendship with someone who you know is living a sinful lifestyle, is wrong. If we walk in the light how can we have fellowship with those who dwell in darkness without walking out into the darkness ourselves? That is the kind of arrogant attitude I despise, thinking that we're above unsaved sinners and should leave them be just because we're saved. Jesus didn't hang out with "righteous" people, he hung out with sinners, because they're the ones who need an example to follow, and to be saved.

I do believe it is also wrong to be friends with homosexuals . . . Having any kind of friendship with someone who you know is living a sinful lifestyle, is wrong. If we walk in the light how can we have fellowship with those who dwell in darkness without walking out into the darkness ourselves? Just because I have a couple of gay friends doesn't mean I'm suddenly going to sprout rainbow wings and join the gay parade. If being friends with someone with different beliefs that doesn't live up to your expectations means I'm wrong in your eyes, I think I'll still sleep well tonight. Well, you know, as well as I ever do.

Jesus didn't hang out with "righteous" people, he hung out with sinners, because they're the ones who need an example to follow, and to be saved. You misunderstand me, my heart's intention is not to be arrogant. The bible says that evil communications corrupt good manners (1 Cor. 15:33). I believe there's nothing wrong with spending time with sinners if it's to reach out to them, that was Christ's purpose in spending time with them, to minister to them and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just saying that it's scripturally wrong to regularly fellowship with these people, because the sort of people we hang out with will effect the way we act, the bible teaches it and I've seen it happen. I'm not saying if we hang out with homosexuals we'll become homosexuals ourselves, but it will vex us. The bible says that Lot was vexed continually when he lived in Sodom. It's not about me being better than them, it's about living a life that is pleasing to God. I'm nothing without Him.

That is the kind of arrogant attitude I despise, thinking that we're above unsaved sinners and should leave them be just because we're saved. Jesus didn't hang out with "righteous" people, he hung out with sinners, because they're the ones who need an example to follow, and to be saved. he didn't make the sinners his disciples. there's a difference between being friends with and being an acquaintance... we SHOULD talk to sinners and tell them about the Bible. But we shouldn't make them our friends and hang around them a lot. What good would it do for us to hang around someone who cusses, drinks, smokes, commits porn and everything like that, when we're Christians. If you condemn them of their actions, maybe that's one thing. Like Sol said, how can light dwell with dark. Either you drink from the cup of God or Satan. You cannot drink from both. We are in the world but not of it. One of the points of friendships is to strengthen one another, what strength can a sinner on his way to hell give to a Christian who should be living a sinless life? It's not an arrogant mindset that says we shouldn't socialize with them. We talk to them and try and convert them. But we don't become close friends with them.
