Old Remains of the Rebel Base

Kad was at the very front as they entered the base, he had his rifle up, ready to shoot down the first rebel he saw.
The soldiers followed behind him.
The tunnel ended at a cave-in.
"Find out if there's a concealed door."
"Yes sir."
Two of the soldiers moved up to the rubble and started scanning it.
"It's all solid, sir. A normal cave-in."
"Scan the walls."
He turned to the demolition expert.
"Can we blow our way through it quietly?"
*looks at the cave-in a moment*
"Negative."
"We're going to have to get through it somehow. Can you drill through it?"
"We don't have the ordinance to do that."
The two soldiers with the scanner looked up.
"There's a hidden door here."
"I can't see it."
The soldier drew an outline on the wall with a marker.
"That's it sir."
"Can you open it."
"If I can find the control panel."
"Then what are you waiting for?"
*nods and starts to search for it*

A few moments later, the soldier stood up again.
"It's here, sir."
"Open it."
The soldier bent down and examined the control panel.
"That's odd."
"What is it?"
"Hold on."
The soldier reached down to his belt and pulled out his knife.
He used it to pry the control panel off of the rock wall.
He looked at the back of the panel, then stood up.
"This isn't a real control panel, sir."
"This is taking to long, just blow the door."
The demolition expert took the soldier's place and started placing the proper amount of charge at the base of the door.
"Alright, troops move away from the door, and prepare for rapid entry."
The soldiers moved into position.
"It's set!"
He stood up and quickly joined the others.
There was an explosion and debris flew out into the tunnel, leaving a dusty, black opening.
The soldiers charged through the dust.

The soldiers entered a room with lots of scanning equipment.
Kad moved in and took cover.
He looked around the room. It was empty.
"Room clear, sir."
"Allright, check that door."
Kad moved, so he had a clear shot at whatever was behind the door.
One of the soldiers waved his hand over the sensor panel, and the door slid open, revealing a dark hallway.
Kad walked to the side of the door.
"Light."
A soldier moves up and uses his rifle light to illuminate the hall.
Kad starts to move down the hall, and the soldiers followed him.
The hall was strait, except for a branch to the left.
Kad turned left, and the soldiers followed him.
They came up to another door, and they opened it and moved into another room. This was another empty room, with no other doors visible, so they moved back down the hall and went strait again.
After awhile, they came to a large, room, that looked like it could be a hanger. There were catwalks up above, and pillars on the sides of the room.
Kad moved in, cautiously, scanning the room for any signs of life.
The soldiers followed him in, looking around.
*They all hear a sniper rifle round, and the trooper taking the rear, fell, shot through the head*
Blaster fire rained down on them as they took cover. At the end of the hanger, a door opened, and soldiers came in, taking cover.

Kad snapped off a couple shots at the Remnant of the Dantooine Security Force's soldiers, then got back down as a shot hit the pillar he was behind.
The soldier next to him stood up and started running to the next pillar, firing as he ran.
Kad gave him cover fire.

Zarrot fired down at the soldier who broke cover with his sniper rifle, but missed him. Barely.

<<"What are you orders?" >> A soldier called over the comm in there helmets to Kad.
<< "We can't hold out like this." >>
Kad moved to fire but quickly fell back as a sniper round hit the pillar.
"Somebody take out the sniper!"

"Yes sir!"
A group of three soldiers were hiding behind a pile of empty boxes.
One of them was the demo expert.
"He wants us to take out the sniper, but we can't hit him from here, and if we make a run for those stairs, we'll get cut to pieces!" The soldier stood up and fired several rounds at the troopers.
"I can give you a distraction," the demo expert said, pulling out a couple charges from his pack.
"Alright, you," he said, pointing at the third soldier, "come with me. We'll get up the stairs and take out the sniper while he throws the charges."
"Yes sir."
"Move in 3 seconds!" The demo expert through a charge over the pile of boxes, then sent a second one over.
The two soldiers broke cover and ran for a metal staircase in the corner of the hanger. The explosion of the first charge was far enough way to have no effect, but the second shook them a little. They reached the staircase. A third charge went off as they started ascending it.

Kad saw what they were doing, and started to give them cover fire. He was able to take down at least one of the soldiers, just as he came up to fire at him. Once the three explosives went off, Kad ducked back down.
The soldier hiding behind the pillar closest to Kad went down.
Kad looked around the room and saw 5 others lying on the ground. He had six soldiers left. He stood up and fired rapidly at the rebels.

The two soldiers came to the top of the stairs, reaching the catwalks.
The second soldier ran up to a rebel who was firing down at the people below, and kicked him under the rail. The rebel screamed as he fell to the ground.
Zarrot heard him scream and moved so he was facing the two soldiers.
*starts running towards Zarrot, firing*
*fires at him from where he is*
The blaster bolts send up showers of sparks all around him, but they don't distract him, he fires one round at the soldier across from him, hitting him in the chest.
The force of the sniper round sends him back. He hits the rail and flips over it, falling down to the hanger floor.
Zarrot turns again so he's facing the second soldier*
*reaches him just as he turns and kicks him in the face*
*Zarrot falls backwards, with blood coming out of his nose*
*punches him, knocking him unconsious*
*grabs the sniper rifle and aims down at the rebels*
*fires one round, killing a soldier*
*fires a second round, killing another*

*Sargent Dakria enters through the doors behind Kad's men, with his soldiers*
*His soldiers cut down two of Kad's men before they can react*
*sees two men go down and drops his rifle, putting his hands on his head*
*the soldier near the demo-expert fires back, taking a soldier down, but is killed the next moment*

*Kad sees the whole thing, and is about to fire at Dakria's men, when Zarrot's men run up behind him*
*a soldier kicks Kad to the floor before he can turn around and pulls the rifle from his hand while he's still flat-footed*
*Soldiers secure the demo expert and hold bring him over to Kad, who Zarrot's men just secured*

Up on the catwalks, Kad's soldier watches it all happen. He places the sniper rifle down, and grabs Zarrot. He gets out his side-arm and puts it to Zarrot's head.
"Put down you're weapons or i'll kill him!"

Dakria looked up at the catwalks. His first instinct was to fire up there, but he only raised his rifle when he saw Zarrot.
"Drop you're weapons or i'll kill him!"
Dakria slowly lowered his rifle, and motioned to all the soldiers behind him to do the same.
Kad watched what was happening from the side.
*scoots closer to Kad*
*quietly* "Can you reach my knife?"
*Kad glances at him, then tries to reach down with his hands, even though they're cuffed behind him*
*says to a soldier next to him
"Bring the two prisoners out."
without looking at him*
*slowly steps back, keeping his hands in sight of the soldier holding Zarrot hostage*
*once out of sight, he draws his sidearm and walks up to Kad and the demo-expert*
"All right, get up."
*stands up*
*stands up and lunges at the soldier, stabbing the knife into the soldiers stomache*
*his eyes go wide*
*he lifts his blaster pistol*
*pulls it from his hand*
*uses the left of his strength to call his comrades*
*shoots him and turns around*
*falls backwards*
*turns, but can't really do anything, or he might compromise Zarrot's life*
*a soldier draws his side arm and runs towards Kad and the soldier*
*fires a shot at him, but it goes into his blastvest*
*fires back twice*
*takes both hits in the chest*
*even though he has armour (which absorbes the damage) the impact sends Kad back*
*as he falls he releases another two shots at the soldier*
*throws his knife as Kad goes down*
*takes both shots in the chest, then the knife hit's his neck*
*he goes down*
*anther three soldiers run forwards*
*tries to see what's going on down there*
*fires off several shots at the soldiers, getting zero direct hits, but slowing them*
*once they're close enough, he rushes them, intending to go hand-to-hand*
*sees the demo-expert and realizes there were other survivors from the squad*
*fires down at Dakria's soldiers, using Zarrot as a shield*

*All the soldiers start running for cover*
*starts running to the stairs and starts climbing them*
*grabs the first soldiers arm and pulls it down*
*the blaster goes off into the ground*
*trips him then swings his knee up into the second soldier's stomache*
*shoots the third soldier a bunch in the head*
*Soldiers start to surround them*
*is over-powered*
*is surrounded*
*sees the energy cell on the pistol is very low*
*drops the blaster, and the soldiers run up and cuff him*
*reaches the top of the stairs and charges the soldier who's only a few meters away*
*shoots Zarrot in the neck, then brings the blaster up, shooting Dakria in the shoulder*
*ignores the pain and jumps at the soldier*
*the soldiers look up and watch the scuffle*
*they roll*
*punches Dakria*
*Starts to choke the soldier*
*grabs hold of Dakria's wrists and wrenches them away from his neck*
*brings his leg up and pushes Dakria off of him*
*is pushed into the flimsy railing and flips over*
*quickly grabs onto the catwalk*
*grabs the pistol and stands up*
*points the gun at Dakria*
*A series of rapid-fire shots are fired, and the soldier falls, riddled with blastershots*

*soldiers ascend the staircase and pull Dakria back onto the catwalk*
*once back on the catwalk, he runs to Zarrot*
"He's still alive, get a med unit!"
*one soldier nots and runs down the staircase, even though a soldier already in the hanger runs to do it*
*the rest of the soldiers carry Zarrot down to the hanger*
*the medical unit arrives and they start taking care of Zarrot*
*Watches Zarrot, worried*
"We've all we can do here, get him to the med center."
*they take Zarrot out of the hanger*
*watches them leave*
Stop thinking about it, Dakria, you have to get back to work.
*walks over to the prisoners*
*they both eye him*
"Who knows you came here."
"No one." *lies*
*crouches down so they're at eye level*
"I don't believe you. Why would you come out here alone. How soon will back-up be here?"
"I told you no one knows we're here. Though when we don't report in, they'll start looking for us."
*stares at him*
"What are you doing in the army? You're just a kid."
"Obviously it was a good idea. I killed 6 of you're men."
Dakria stood up.
"Seperate them. I don't want them talking."
*soldiers carry out Dakria's orders*
*walks away from them to the other side of the hanger*
*comms the leader of the Dantooine Resistance*
<< Report in. >>
"This is Sargent Dakria. Whatever you've unpacked, you better pack up again. A small group of Dantooine Soldiers found the base."
<< Did you make contact? >>
"Hard contact, sir. >>
<< They're dead? >>
"All but two. One's just a boy, sir."
<< Allright. How soon will they be missed? >>
"Unkown. My guess is soon."
<< What are our casualties? >>
"12 dead, several wounded."
<< *sigh* Well done, Sargent. Over and out. >>

~ The next day ~

Kad stayed awake all night, watching the rebel's movements. He was still in the hanger, and there was always at least one gaurd watching him. There were usually a dozen or so people inside the hanger. Across from him on the other side of the hanger, the demolition expert had decided to get some sleep. He woke up just awhile ago. The rebel's had just about finished packing, and two civilian speeders and come into the hanger some hours before and they were being loaded.
They had taken off all Kad's armour, and he was now dressed in regular clothes. His left hand was cuffed to a metal bar running alongside the hanger wall.
He was tired, but he could stay awake. He would stay awake.
It was in the early hours of the morning when three gaurds joined Kad's gaurd.
They un-cuffed him from the hanger wall and cuffed his hands behind his back.
He looked over at the demo expert.
He was recieving the same treatment.
A hood was pulled over Kad's head.
He stumbled since he couldn't see where he was going, but the gaurds held him up.
He was shoved into one of the speeders.

Another transport landed next to them and started unloading the troops.
Yazzen's battalion secures the hanger they landed in and moved disappeared through doors.
Yazzen commanded his troops from the hanger.
After searching the base, the troops returned.
"Sir, there's nobody here. But there has been activity here very recently."
"The rebels were here."
Yazzen strode over to the walls.
"Kad was ambushed. See the scorch marks?"
Yazzen walked over to the center of the room.
"Alright, there's a control room somewhere; find it. From what it looks like, they left in a hurry, they might not have had time to erase all their information."
The soldiers left the hanger.

~Yazzen's soldiers find a control room and after several hours, they are able to hack into a heavily coded file~
Yazzen is watching over a soldier's shoulder.
"Are you getting anything off it?"
"Not much sir. Most've it's been delete. It's a small file. The reason it took so long to crack was because it was deleting itself, and i had to stop that process. And the reason it hasn't been deleted yet because it was one of the lesser important files. I got about 11% of the file here, untouched."
"I don't suppose we got lucky, and we have a list of names of traitors, or other base locations."
"No such luck."

~an hour passes, as they look throught the remainder of the file~
"Commander, look at this. I think we might have something."
Yazzen walks over.
"What is it?"
"It's security recording of the hanger. It's not much, but it may give us a clue as to where they went."
"Play it."
Yazzen pulled a chair over.
"Ok, this might take awhile to load, it looks like the recording is like, half deleted or something."
"Make it work."
They waited several minutes, then it started playing. It showed a view of the hanger from the catwalks, then it went into white noise. It continued to be static for several minutes.
"I don't think this is working."
"Alright."
Yazzen stood up.
"Pack it up, we're heading back to base. Get that file an a datachip. We'll try to get it working at base."
"I'll see what I can do."
"Get started."
Yazzen walked towards the door, and passed some soldiers.
"Help him."
The soldiers went to assist the other soldier.
Yazzen went to the hanger.

Yazzen entered the hanger. Everyone was loading up into the base.
A soldier walks up to Yazzen.
"Sir, the sensors are in place. If they return to use this as a base, we'll know."
"Good work, soldier."
After several minutes, the tech soldiers entered the hanger.
"We got it sir. Everything that was left is on this datachip," he said holding up a datachip in a seethrough case.
"Good, get onboard."
The soldiers boarded the ship.
Yazzen waited for the remainder of his troops to get on the ships, before he himself boarded. The transports took off and flew out of the rebel base.
