July 18, 2008 Director: Christopher Nolan Plot Synopsis: Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker, a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City. Christian Bale ... Bruce Wayne/Batman Maggie Gyllenhale ... Rachael Dawes Heath Ledger ... The Joker Gary Oldman ... Lt. James Gordon Morgan Freeman ... Lucius Fox Aaron Eckhart ... Harvey Dent Anthony Michael Hall ... ? Eric Roberts ... Salvatore Maroni Michael Cane ... Alfred Pennyworth Nestor Carbonell ... Mayor of Gothom Cillian Murphy ... Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow (rumored) William Fichtner ... (rumored) Score by: James Newton Howard Hans Zimmer Pictures: Basically this movie is about Joker's origin, then him as the main villain. Rumors of Scarecrow returning, mainly to keep the continuity of it beleivable. They say Scarecrow won't have too much screentime. Also Harvey Dent will help Batman and Gordon restore peace in the city. Dent's character will be developed, so that in Batman 3 they can go ahead and make him Two-Face. Also, Selina Kyle will also make an appearance at the end of this film, with her being Catwoman in the 3rd. Also, if you've noticed, Rachael Dawes is no longer played by Katie Holmes, due to the fact that they were able to find a better actress that looks similar to her: Maggie Gyllenhale.

Well, they're definatly taking a darker approach to Batman... which I beleive does the most justice to the comics. The 80's and 90's Batman movies made Batman too friendly and the villains too silly... But yes, he does look rather... ugly...

I like his look. It makes him look more crazy instead of silly, which is how I envisioned the Joker.

It's appropriate, but frightening beyond all reason!

Heath Ledger went from being a gay cowboy to an insane guy with green hair. Being gay will do that to you I guess.

Actually, I think gay guys have better fashion sense. As for casting Heath Ledger as the Joker, I haven't seen any of his movies I refrain from commenting until i actually see the film.

Well, I guess we can all guess that either someone new is going to play Joker in later movies or he won't be in them, seeing as Heath Ledger is dead.

True.... I suspect they'll either recast or just mysteriously have him die. And I honestly don't think someone's death is a issue to post " " over... RIP Heath. I did hear, however that a CGI Joker is possible for a third film... technology being what it is...

They found him with a bunch of sleeping pills, so I guess playing an insane person really drove him to the edge.
