I've noticed something here a lot. Rules on this site tend to be broken a lot. I know, I'm one of the ones guilty of doing such. However, whenever my minor offense breakage of rules gets me banned, I'm left to wonder why the staff can break the near major offense ones and still be in the staff position much less still on the site!
I think it's fair to say that if the staff cannot obey these rules then the rules should be done away with. If the makers of the rules cannot abide by them (on this site at least) then they should 1: be punished like everyone else or 2: stop banning others who break a minor offense rule or 3: just remove the rules all together.
I've made my case and I hope it will be replied with something besides "tl;dr" or 'you're old fashioned" or "you're stupid" or "you're an idiot".

Key word: May.
Context and intent, as well as past offenses are important facets in deciding consequences.

Like certain people cussing several times in their past here?

Care to define 'certain people'?

It's not my original intention to call out names, but since you asked... Jango... and I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of any. But if I can remember there were situations in the past which were the same.

Okay, well, as someone who circumvented a ban, you're not in a position to be challenging me, now are you?

That's more or less the best way you can say it, here. Also, as Nate also said, past and present offenses, blah blah, etc. You've made more accounts than I can remember, have started more arguments (which other people were eager to join in with), and have annoyed more people than I can remember. That's why your little offenses get you banned. You have a history.
People swearing is something we generally give them a chance with. Jango, whom you pointed out, doesn't have (much) of a history, so he gets away with offenses more readily, and it's not like every post is riddled with them. Plenty of other people (mods and non-mods) have sweared, and I or other mods have simply edited out because they were good members, otherwise, and they didn't deserve a ban.
However, if someone new joins and swears a lot, right off the bat, chances are they won't turn around, or they won't be a good member, blah blah, etc., and we'll ban them immediately.
Having a good rapport with all the mods and admins helps immensely, as well. You have none, or possibly negative, and we (although no longer I) have the power to ban you at our whim. That's more or less why, although we'll never ban you just because we feel like it. Probably.
Yeah, I'm no longer a mod, but I was, and this is more or less right.
Also, you have no room to call out anyone, my friend. ANYONE. Except for the fact that Nate asked you to, anyway. Your 'minor offenses' have trailed off into the sky; last I saw, they were gunning for the moon, and making fantastic progress.
