What do you believe concerning the end of the world and Jesus' second coming?
In a nutshell I believe… that now (from the time of Jesus' death on the cross until His second coming) is the last days.
I believe that antichrist is not just one man, but that any person or system which denies Jesus Christ (either in word or deed) is antichrist, and is already present in the world.
1 John 2:18, 22- Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. … Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Jesus won't return until there is little or no hope of anyone being saved, He's patient and wants all who can come to Him to have the chance to repent.
2 Peter 3:9- The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
No one can determine the time Jesus will return, except that as the end draws near the world will grow darker and darker, and it will become like the days of Noah, when very few people served God.
Matthew 24:36-37- But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Not to say that there will only be exactly eight people serving God, as there were in the times of Noah, in the end, but that's just the sign Jesus gave us to show that there won't be many left believing. In agreement with this is Luke 18:8 when Jesus questions whether He will find any faith in the world when He returns, I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
I don’t believe in “the great tribulation” (it‘s not even mentioned in the bible), I just believe that anyone who serves Christ in truth is going to have tribulation and suffer persecution in the world until the end.
2 Timothy 3:12- Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
No one can determine when Jesus will return, it's going to come "as a theif in the night", when people are just going about their daily business, nobody knows when, except that by seeing the world grow darker we will probably be able to guess when it is soon (personally, I think the world is already declining in that direction, but only God knows people's hearts).
I don’t believe in the “rapture” in the classic sense, rather I believe that the saints are going to be “caught up” to meet Jesus in the sky as He returns and, from that point on, we will be in His presence; then after we meet Jesus in the sky we’re going to come back down to earth with Him and He is going to judge the world. The ungodly will be cast into the “lake of fire”, Heaven and Earth will be destroyed and God will create a new world where we will live with Him and the rest of the body for all eternity.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
I also believe that everything in Daniel chapter 9 (the 70 weeks prophecy) has already been fulfilled, as the bible and other history proves.
