I'd like to point something out right now: With our economy as poor as it is right now, hitting the lower and middle classes the hardest, the only way to revamp it, IS TO REDISTRIBUTE THE WEALTH FROM THE WEALTHY. McCain and Palin would have had to do the exact same thing, because it's the only thing that will work right now. But the only reason everyone jumped at Obama, is because someone used the word "Socialism" in relation to his policy; which yes, it is Socialism, but that doesn't automatically mean it's evil. If regulated, it can work. But anyway: I called it. In your face Mel. I voted on the 31st, my birthday. I made history on my birthday. It's pretty awesome. I may not be an eloquent speaker, but I have just one thing to say to this. Any society that would give up a little liberty, to gain a little security will deserve neither and loose both. ~ Benjamin Franklin We, as Americans, have lived so long with so much security that now when the bane of many other nations comes right to our front door (socialism), we are willing to give up our liberty, even if it is a little right now, so that we may gain a little economic security. And any man that believes socialism can be regulated is ignorant of history. Not ignorant of history, just ignorant of failure. We aren't like "many other countries", we're very different. We have the ability to take in new ideas and concepts which are foreign to us, and adapt to make them work. And right now, that's what we need to do. So, adapt. Or, as a certain political figure would say, "Change."

Or, as a certain political figure would say, "Change." Every country that has adopted socialism has been just like us in at least one area: they adopted socialism, thus, they were subject to change, even if it was a little bit. It's not lack of change that destroys a civilization, mind you, it's what policies they adopt or drop. Socialism in every socialistic nation most likely was not the sole factor of it's demise or failure, but it sure didn't help the nation. Socialism, in any form, never helps any country, so then why have we adopted it, if just a little bit? If democracy fails us, are we going to then adopt monarchy, just because it's change? Why don't we just start trading a few of our cities back to England for some cash? How about adopt Nazism? Caste system is definatly change. After saying this, there's but one reason Obama-supporters could adopt socialism... because they think it'll help. Give me one example of how socialism has helped any other country. Should I remind you why we're the greatest country on Earth? Capitalism and Christian upbringing. We've dropped the second and told the upcoming generation that all our founding fathers were atheists, and now we've begun to adopt the direct opposite of the only thing left that made America what it is today! The economy is broken. But why is that? Greed in the government and on Wall Street. It wasn't capitalism's fault, so why replace it?
